I saw the swan through the fog before I even noticed the amazing trees. It moved so slowly that I almost didn’t believe it was real at first. The mist had softened everything like a painting coming to life. I didn’t want to speak or move too quickly. I just stood there and watched, feeling calm in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time.
