How to Choose the Right Fine Art Print

This guide helps you choose the ideal artwork size, orientation and placement for your home. Whether you're considering a square, vertical or horizontal photograph, the principles below ensure it fits naturally into your space.

1. Start With the Mood

Ask yourself what the artwork should bring into the room: calmness, depth, contrast, openness or a sense of escape. Atmospheric prints tend to work beautifully in bedrooms, living rooms and quiet spaces where you want a softer emotional tone.

Contrast and dynamism bring unique atmosphere into a room.

2. Choosing the Right Orientation

Square works in almost any space and feels balanced.

Vertical fits narrow walls, hallways and areas with high ceilings.

Horizontal works perfectly above sofas, beds, and long surfaces.

Different orientations shape the room’s atmosphere in unique ways.

3. Size Guide (All Formats)

75 × 75 cm (29.5 × 29.5 in) – strong presence on medium walls.

4. Hanging Height

A simple guideline: hang the center of the artwork at about 145–155 cm (57–61 inches) from the floor. Above furniture, leave 15–25 cm (6–10 inches) of space.

Eye-level placement keeps the artwork grounded in the space.

5. Paper & Print Quality

All prints are made with museum-grade archival fine art paper, ensuring deep tones, rich textures and long-lasting quality. This is especially important for atmospheric work where subtle gradients matter.

Fine art paper texture
Archival matte paper preserves atmospheric detail for decades.
